I'm doing that currently Clark - that is exactly what I do actually. I used to have 2 G ad blocks per article, but the bottom ad block clicks paid substantially less than the top ad block, so I replaced it with Chitika.

When I enter my articles into the SQL database, I go to shopping/amazon and find a product that best suits the page. I put that into the Chitika ad dynamically to mate it with the content - it works surprisingly well.
