In addition, Google Places recommends that you use a login which you're willing to share if you're a business which allows someone else to manage your Place page -- if you have multiple clients in the same account, you can't then provide the login back to your client if they decide they no longer wish to work with you.

I think better agencies provide the login information back to the client when they've done work on their behalf.
