Just a note that one or more of these patches takes a very long time to complete in the reboot shutdown phase, in the pre-OS-boot phase, and in the post-boot, pre-login phase. I had the to fight the suspicion that something had gone very wrong, and wait out a reboot process that took about five times longer than normal. This was on a fast Win7 machine with a normal power-on to completely-ready-to-use time of 35 seconds or so.

So whatever they did in there, they did a lot of it, and it takes time -- Go get a cup of coffee or something instead of sweating it out like I did...
