tictoc, without involving politics, I'd just like to point out that Microsoft does not have to bow down to every company. They do not, importantly, have to bow down to other operating system producers. Microsoft fought the division of their OS and software arms and they are now paying the price. The entire basis for this is to ensure that Microsoft cannot use their OS monopoly in certain sectors to unfairly push Microsoft's non OS-products.

Regarding the 12 statements, there is nothing here which is a surprise. The 3-year-revision makes it worthless as if they find any of the statements is actually affecting their business plans or allowing a competitor to grow, they will go right ahead and change the statement. There should be a statement that they will not reduce the limiting effect on Microsoft or increase the enabling effect for other entities in future revisions.
