Hi.... hoping a comms or data guru can contribute here.
I have a Netcomm ADSL2+ wireless modem router in an existing building and I want to distribute the service to a new building approx 70-75 metres away.
I have read online articles with claims about successfully connecting two modem routers with cat6 cable across distances over 100 metres. If the current service is already slow (south Pacific island location), would this type of connection have some serious performance issues.... if it can recommended at all?
Back in my previous corporate life I recall the IT people using a transmitter/receiver setup to connect staff working in separate buildings that had clear line of sight. This was pretty cutting edge at the time and the costs were high. Is this technology now commonly available for domestic situations... and does it have any shortcomings?
Or is there some other option to consider?
All input appreciated.
