Actually, I am just trying to figure out what certain target sites for me are spending on hosting their sites

I do run IIS an mysql on shared and vps an its great, but I am seeking to abandon the web services consumption aspect of my sites cos I can't get them to run at comparable speed to a properly resourced db/harddrive system

even on vps , mysql performance begins to degrade seriously beyond 400mb, and the load on the server is at maximum ,
