You might want to try uninstalling the video card drivers and let the OS reinstall them again from scratch to make sure they aren't corrupt.
I recently had a high end gamers video card smoke because the onboard fan died and it was having serious heat related issues, seemed to have some permanent damage. If you're having a similar problem then all you're really doing is just letting the card cool down when you take it all apart and put it back together. Once it heats up again it'll malfunction once more.
