Anyone have any recommendations for a good slide/film scanner?

I'd like something that costs no more than $300 with resolution in the 9600 dpi range, thinking about the Canon CanoScan 9000F Color Image Scanner

Anyone have any experience with it?

Big problem is I have over a thousand slide to scan in and a few years back I found some flatbed scanner that could do up to 25 slides at a time if I remember correctly, which would speed up the process a bunch, but I can't find anything like it anymore.

Anyone know anything about a scanner like that?
