For example, a 120 gig mlc device can last up to 1,000 terabytes of written data. Over the course of four years, you'd have to rewrite the entire drive 7 times a day, 365 days a year for 4 years.
One of my servers that runs a busy forum has average writes of 1.2MB per second. That's 1.2MB times 86400 seconds in a day. Or around 100GB per day... or around 25,000,000 blocks written.
Most of it is updating the same files (database) over and over and over and over....
The total database size is only around 2GB.
So don't underestimate how much writing is going on.
Try running vmstat/iostat and see how much writing your server actually does.
