Heck, we just bought 2 netbooks this year because those pads don't hold themselves up.

Ever try watching a movie or read a book and holding it up the entire time?

Not to mention a real keyboard is very nice opposed to tap tapping on the screen, but these days I think I can Swype faster than type but nobody seems to offer Swype on a tablet for whatever reason.

However, I plan to get at least one tablet later this year, just not anything from iCult.

I see no need for an ipad or even a smartphone.

You must not travel.

Handheld GPS navigation makes travel so easy it's silly.

Running out of gas? Add the gas station layer and plot a side trip.

Hungry? Add a restaurant layer and plot a side trip.

Need a grocery store? You get the idea...

Been on the ground in Ohio over a week now and getting around like a native thanks to Google Navigation was worth the admission price to a smartphone.
