There was spyware on the system. Bought webroot and they finally got rid of it. Now use that and it stops a lot getting in.

I have windows xp. I have defragmented and it made no difference. I do clean out temp folders etc. I do all the basic things but nothing seems to help.

What else could make it faster and stop it freezing all the time?

I do have a lot of processes running, most of which I have no idea what they are.

Is there any way to wipe the system so I deletes all the programme and basically takes the system back to like it was when it was bought? Don't know how to do this with XP?
