Don't be disgusted. Flash is an incredible tool. It just needs to used wisely. Most designers do not consider search engine optimization so an all Flash site is much better than an HTML one aesthetically.

Flash is just the name of the product. It doesn't have to Flash. It is a way to create stunning visual effects that almost all internet users can see. The only problem is search engines haven't really learned how to read it. I would work with your designer to create something visually appealing while making a site that will perform well in the engines. It will be great experience for the designer and you will have a better site than you would have had with another designer who wouldn't have used Flash. Send your designer this URL.
