I'm new to this forum, but certainly not to the Internet or online services. I was in charge of a forum via CompuServe several years before most of us ever used the Internet. We were called SYSOP's back then. Back in the good old days we didn't have to worry to much about SPAM. In those days a few carefully sent FLAMES would take care of the problem. I haven't heard the term flame in a long time. These days if we flamed someone, we'd be accused of sending SPAM. Just an example of how fast things change in the world today.
