vBulletin also has a paid addon, vBSEO, which gives you a lot of additional control over what gets spidered, URL generation, title and meta tags, redirects, etc.

At one point, Google was offering Rich Snippets by parsing the vB pages - you'd get post dates, number of replies, etc. I'm just seeing the post date and a text snippet right now.
