This is huge. Lots of people are up in arms about it on Twitter- I've got 15 or 20 blogs that will have to be moved. There's people on Twitter making noise about a petition to get Google to offer FTP publishing as a paid service.
Switching to Wordpress isn't a simple ordeal, and not only that but it's a switch away from a hosted CMS solution to a self-hosted CMS solution [that is notorious for being hacked before you can blink an eye if you don't keep up with updates]. Self-hosted wordpress is a must if you want to be able to keep the blog as a subdirectory on your domain, employ your own PHP code, etc. Wordpress.com just doesn't cut it if you want to get very customized in terms of what you do with your blog.
Perhaps there are other hosted CMS solutions that have FTP publishing out there that I'm not aware of- anyone have any to share?
What are you doing about the switch if you have blogs that are affected?
