---- Facebook Gives Users New Tools to Control Their Information

I saw one newspaper column where the comment section was fizzing with rage! About one in twenty commenters would drop by and say: "Guys, calm down. All you have to do, if you don't want everything to go public is change your Privacy preferences, as Facebook has gone to the trouble of informing you that you need to."

I tend to agree. Are people so enraged that they are being asked to moderate their own Privacy preferences - a once only task which takes about 10 seconds?

Really?! Why?! Why is that such a big deal? It's really simple and it takes ten seconds.

I don't get it. So many people were shouting about how they were going to quit Facebook forever. Why wouldn't they just change their Privacy Preferences (it would take about the same amount of time as deleting ones account) and continue as normal?
