At first glance who would connect community to classifieds? Yet that is what makes Craigslist the seventh most popular site in the United States. How critical do you think building community is to an Internet endeavor?
Read an article about Craigslist, the online classifieds site and came upon this statement about Craigslist [nytimes.com] from a newspaper publisher: “What Craigslist does well is build a community and a feel of a community,” he said. “Building communities is going to be critical for any online product, whether a newspaper or not.”
