I just received an e-mail from Google about the Gmail outage.

Basically they said that as a result of the outage they'll be extending a 3-day SLA credit to my account. And that the credit will be reflected in an automatic 3-day extension to my Google Apps term date. No action on my part is necessary.

The also appear to be taking the outage quite seriously. All kinds of changes are being implemented to help ensure something dumb like this doesn't happen again. I guess we'll see if that really happens. But the 3-day SLA credit, while not a huge amount of money for myself alone, I would imagine is a substantial sum when you consider all the Apps customers Google must have.
