users are important, but don't forget your content when making this choice. I design full width often, and *I* prefer it, but on some sites I don't simply because the smaller size fits the content better regardless of screen size/resolution.

I'd rather a few visitors wonder why my site is a little narrow, than why it's so empty feeling. In my mind empty = nobody home.
