The problem resolving hosts seems to be limited to search engine sites. Google, Yahoo, Alltheweb, Altavista, Lycos, Hotbot are unreachable because their host names "cannot be found"; MSN [http://search.msn.com/] results in "Service Unavailable - DNS failure" Teoma, Ask Jeeves, and various 'smaller' search engines are reachable however. Seems like somebody's up to something nefarious, no?
I'm still unable to reach [google.com...] but [216.239.39.99...] works just fine. I also can't see Yahoo...
