Skype Out's international long distance pricing is way too high to be competitive for volume callers. I will use Skype Out when my own services can't connect to certain far flung destinations, but that is about it.

What people might be sleeping on when they talk about Skype killing a lot of the international long distance business is that the bulk of the calling to certain countries today is done mobile to mobile, and that pricepoints in a lot of places are low enough that you don't really need Skype as a dial around service.

That being said, their video chat still rocks. It just doesn't make any money.
