I am looking to build a content based website and wanted to ask if someone can suggest me a good open source CMS which we can use to build a simple content based website?

If you know the site will stay simple, I would look for a CMS that is simple. CMS Made Simple, Concrete 5, Perch, Wordpress.... most are free so you can test to your heart's content. The problem with testing is that it takes time to get into any depth. If you know one already, use that.

Wordpress is fundamentally simple and has so much documentation, I think that makes it easy to get started with.
