Android and Gmail bug: "Oops! You are not invisible because you're logged into Google Talk from another client, device or location..."

Since the latest Android update, a couple of weeks ago, i've noticed when I log into Gmail on a desktop computer to check my email, my invisibility is now gone. This may, or may not be connected to the update.

I see the message:
"Oops! You are not invisible because you're logged into Google Talk from another client, device or location..."

I am not knowingly, logged into Google Talk anywhere on my different computers and phones, and I have not logged in on my desktop, laptop or tablet, etc.

I do not want to be "visible" every time I log in.

I notice that many others are reporting this issue, which appears to have been around for some time. I was unable to find a resolution.

Does anyone have a solution to this, which appears to be a bug in Android and gmail?
