Hi all,

I'm creating a database driven web based customer scheduling and job tracking system for a client.

They are now interested in having their tech's be able to use a smartphone and/or data enabled tablet in the field to manage work orders and enter pricing information. The data would be transmitted ove

I figure that reducing functionality and reformatting a web page to fit the size of a smartphone or tablet shouldn't be too hard - but a mobile app i'm guessing is another story.

Since i have not ventured into this area yet, i'm asking for a little guidance and/or a pointer to a link or a good read into what's involved in mobile app development.

Thanks

I was at a dinner where the speaker was the owner of our county wide newspaper. She said that they had apps developed for users to read the paper at about 3 grand each. I didn't find out who they outsourced to.

You might be able to find similar apps in the marketplace for your mobile carrier and OS.
