Hi there topr8, I just fired up my old "XP pc", upgraded Opera from 12 to 12.01 and updated the "Flash" plug-in-version to 11.4.402.265. My tests, using the "BBC iplayer", were problem free. birdbrain

yes, that is the exact same set-up birdbrain ... thanks. although sadly not problem free here, the flash player just doesn't seem to be recognised at all. thanks for your time in testing it out. i'll just have to uninstall and then reinstall flash to see if that works.

Hi there topr8, have you checked "Opera's Preferences" settings? If you click the "Avanced" tab, then the "Contents" option on the left, you will find a checkbox entitled... "Enable plug-ins" ...which, obviously, will need a little tick in it. ;) birdbrain

yes thanks birdbrain, good call - although that was my first place to look - did that! still can't resolve the issue, it happened when opera updated to 12.01, before that it worked fine!

Hi there topr8, Well, I've exhausted all my ideas. :( If no one else comes up with a suggestion you could try, as a last resort... birdbrain

Hi there topr8, I have just noticed that Opera 12.02 is now available for download. Perhaps that will resolve your problem. ;) birdbrain

I've had the same problem, on occasion. Can't help fix it, I'm afraid, but it did 'go away'. For me, the problem surfaced when I upgraded Flash to a new version, not before! In fact, Flash worked on some sites and not on others. So, I put this down to a Flash problem, rather than Opera, but I'm not so savvy on these things..... I tend to hold off on Flash upgrades now.
