| Login Stopped Working

Can anyone think of a reason that Opera would suddenly stop allowing me to log into a secure site? This afternoon, right in the middle of editing for a directory, Opera wanted the login and pw again. When those are entered, nothing happens. I can get in on FF, IE, and every other browser we have, but Opera won't do anything. I don't even get an error message. And I can get Opera to let me in on other computers. Version 9.27, Build 8841 I'm baffled! [edited by: Laisha at 4:03 am (utc) on June 1, 2008]

While on the site, right click on any page and Edit site preferences...
Check to see whether you have anything disabled that is necessary for the site (i.e., JavaScript, plug-ins, etc.).

Did as you asked, and I could see nothing that should have been enabled but was not. I did, however, enable the "open console on error" thing which I had not noticed before. Then I tried again to log in and got a list of the errors. All appear to be CSS errors. Would posting that help diagnose the problem?

That's more of a debugging console. I'm not sure whether those errors would be the cause. Normally when I can't login with Opera, but I can with other browsers it's due to my settings. I generally don't allow anything to run except for sites that I approve. You might also try deleting your cookies for that site, clearing your cache, and refreshing the page.
