Opera's core team just announced today that they have a local build that will pass the Acid3 test! [my.opera.com...]

I always knew Opera was ahead of the pack. Impressive. Somehow I don't think that will be making it into Opera 9.5. Maybe Opera 10?

OperaWatch is now reporting that the newset build of version 3 DID pass the Acid 3 test - 100% | In an internal build of the Opera browser, the Acid3 test, which was only very recently released, reached a 100% pass rate. A technical preview of this internal Opera build will be posted on labs.opera.com in the next week or so. [operawatch.com...] |

No, it's not passed all of Acid3, just the 100 DOM tests. From the comments:
