I noticed when browsing flickr on my iphone that it gives you a trimmed down version of its main site.
however there a link at the bottom that enables you to go back to the full site.
I would like to do this with my current site, offer a m.domain trimmed version with an option for the full site.
how is this done? can any one advise a solution please?

typically the server-side script or the server configuration is designed to recognize the user agent as a mobile browser and responds to the requested url with a redirect to the equivalent mobile url.
this w3c document gets pretty geeky on the subject.
