Building a survey with AJAX (?) and MySQL
How to build a survey/questionnaire that uses a database
kirikara

Hello, I am building a site that will help people with travel budgeting and advice. As part of this project I would like to create a questionnaire (survey) that people can fill out to narrow down their travel options. I'll describe my idea a bit more in detail:

There are 10 or 20 preset questions (all optional) that people will answer. Each question is in a separate "block", and -- this is where I thought AJAX might come in -- they can drag the question blocks up or down in order of importance to them. So if question number 8 is actually their top priority, they can drag it up to the first position in the questionnaire.

Their answers would correspond to a relational MySQL database which would then give them some recommendations from the database (such as places to go, things to do) based on their input.

I have really no clue where to start with this... maybe there is a CMS or 'survey builder' out there that can already do this? I would be willing to learn how do it DIY, or if it sounds too complicated for a n00b like me, I would also be willing to hire a developer.
Sorry if this is confusing or if I'm asking in the wrong forum, but I would really appreciate any help or advice you guys can give. Thanks!
