Should I bother with a reseller account?

I'm not new to web development, but I am new to working with clients on a professional-level. I've been doing some research on reseller accounts, and I'm wondering whether or not it is worth purchasing one right now as a beginner, or to just set the client up with a host themselves? If I should do the latter, I'm wondering how I would go about setting up the hosting for the long-run. Should I register everything under their name, with their payment information, or get them to do it themselves?

Thanks very much everyone!

In the long run I suggest you get a dedicated server and run the hosting on that server yourself. You do not want to be in the position of not being able to get PHP or something upgraded when it is required; or having no control over other server users fighting for your customer's CPU or bandwidth.
