I don't know the feature sets in the others mentioned, but FileZilla allows you to store/backup your settings and your connections in an XML file. A real sweet feature when you want/need to share it within your company or even if you need to use it on a different machine. You can carry it around on your USB memory stick.

I've had good results with FileZilla. I hadn't heard of that one. I'll have to try it out. Maybe not ... OS X 10.2.8, and therefore the PowerBook G3, is to ancient for it to work ...

I must be the only person with issues with Smart FTP... it continually won't open when I launch the program at times. Annoyed the hell out of me, so I switched to Filezilla and so far, it's been great.

FileZilla is very good, although I prefer WS_FTP Pro which was free on a computer cover magazine. dc

i remember using WS_FTP_LE in the early days. It's free if you install as educational. It still seems to be a solid working client.... although you wont find the bells and whistles you get out of a modern client.

| I will echo this. Had a number of recurrent issues with Smart FTP. Swithed to Filezilla and have been very pleased for the past couple years now. WBF

i remember using WS_FTP_LE in the early days. Me too, that was my first FTP client. Recently WS_FTP Home turned up free on a cover magazine, but I didn`t like the changes they made in that and reverted back to the Pro version. dc
