Bing Makes Code Search and API Reference Easier

 3:05 pm on Aug 13, 2014 (gmt 0)

Bing has made some changes to make code search easier with these updates.

...without even going into the MSDN page, user can know about the use this method, can even copy paste the code and start using it. Bing Makes Code Search and API Reference Easier [blogs.bing.com]

Developer queries are also made easier.
Technical developer queries often contain non-alphanumeric characters like :: (scope), ++ (operators), () (function), etc. Such queries are notoriously difficult for a search engine to handle.
Bing has given special treatment to such technical queries, so that the context is preserved and we show relevant results on top.

Software selection and downloads have a new information pane providing additional information, such as a description about the product, cost, official and trusted download sites, and aggregated reviews.

Additionally, Microsoft's own technologies are available as "instant answers" at the top of the SERPs.

To help people find information about Microsoft technologies more quickly we have rolled out instant answers at the top of the results page.

Those sound like some cool new features -- Just checked it out a bit and for some searches they're returning color-coded snippets of code in the results, which is cool for searchers, but I'm not sure how sites are going to feel about it.
