'adCenter Bans Accounts By Accident'

Msg#: 4406327 posted 10:55 pm on Jan 12, 2012 (gmt 0)

Search Engine Roundtable is reporting that some adCenter accounts were accidentally banned after being wrongly flagged for malware.

Does anyone know if this is affecting webmasters generally, regardless of adCenter usage? We got a malware alert today via Bing Webmaster Tools, but when I navigate (as directed) to the crawl details page, BWMT indicates there are 0 malware infected pages. Drill into the malware report specifically, and one URL is listed. Upon inspection of the page in question, there's no trace of malware (or links to malware) that I can find, which makes me wonder if the bug that's impacting adCenter is also having other effects.

In addition to the malware warning, we also noticed that Bing very suddenly stopped indexing a major directory on our site, about a month ago. It's not the directory associated with the URL tied to the malware report, but it's sufficiently odd that it seems worth mentioning.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
