No one else has experienced this, has any insights on it?

Did I explain this so poorly no one understands my question? Is the thread just invisible?

use an http response header checker to check to see if your 404 page really IS giving a 404 response. Otherwise, Urls with tracking strings can cause this problem. If your site has a search function, then this might also cause this effect.... sort of a honeypot for spiders... where infinite URLs are possible, for search results. Sorry... tried to answer this days ago... but went under a tunnel on the train.

Thanks, here's a bit mmore info. This is a dedicated server. The only other sites on the server are a couple very small sites of mine. I have no site search on the site. All pages are static and have only one url I just ran a header check and got this response: HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found |
