I just noticed this and I always use Microsoft as an example on when clients ask me on whether to use a subdomain or folder strategy and there are reasons for both obviously but when smaller clients ask I usually direct them into a folder strategy - this morning though I noticed that Microsoft switched around maps.bing.com to www.bing.com/maps - yet their other subdomains (office, research etc.) remain unchanged. Thoughts?
Looks like Bing is being (correctly) branded now under one brand. All of the bing marketing has been bing.com/whatever in print so its about time it happens with the urls. See this finding pretty active on twitter as well.
