Microsoft Using Yahoo?

 4:26 pm on Oct 5, 2007 (gmt 0)

Just a little tidbit from my stats today that I thought was kinda' funny.

tide531.microsoft.com (Microsoft Corp) [Label IP Address]

Washington, Redmond, United States, 0 returning visits

Date Time WebPage
5th October 2007 10:05:08 search.yahoo.com/search?p=keywords searched for&ei=utf-8&fr=b1ie7

I thought they used MSN or Live at work at least :)

The 'tide' hostnames are proxy servers at Microsoft, and have something to do with the "quality checks" discussed in this current thread [webmasterworld.com].

Yeah, but why this:
search.yahoo.com/search?p=keywords searched for&ei=utf-8&fr=b1ie7

Are they using the Yahoo SE at work?

By the way, in my stats I see some MSN research robot crawling my site very often...
