Have you, to your knowledge, done anything with the site that could have attracted a ban? Sorry to ask, but you didn't indicate one way or t'other.

I've had a site totally disappear and don't consciously know of anything whatsoever that could cause a ban - except 301 for www and non-www and a change of hosts/IP number.

namrata, have you done any 301's on the site? I really believe there can be a problem with that, I'll be going through this particular site and checking all the current live URLs and also, all the internal linking. | I have uploaded reference pages on my site. | Please tell us a little more about those reference pages. [edited by: Marcia at 12:12 am (utc) on Dec. 20, 2006]

Hi, I have'nt done any 301 on my website. My all optimized pages are closed to the root directory. I believe as pages closer to the root directory are often given more weight with the engines; e.g., www.domainname.com/page1.htm We have created the reference pages for all my main keywords. I have cereated individual pages for each keyword. I have keyword-rich content on these pages. We have added internal links in our reference pages on the home page. I believe that this will make website more user and search engine friendly. I have added internal anchor tags on reference pages.

| We have added internal links in our reference pages on the home page. |
| It's possible your keyword density exceeded MSN's liking when you added the links to home page.

My couple of site too not showing any pages when I search using site: command. My sites were down for a day or two? Guessing this might have caused to deindex my site pages. Is your site too down for some time?

After August 06 update: After much testing, I lowered KW density...all my pages are back up and ranking well on MSN. *Here is what I found...use KW no more that 2 times in Description Meta Tags. *Keep overall page density under 3%. DON'T over optimize Meta Tags or Page Body... choose 3 or 4 KW's in your Description and use no more than 2 times...all others 1 time. Use the same KW's for page body and keep in the 3% range. All other page body KW's keep at 1% to 2%. Yahoo also seems to like this density...traffic has increased. Google is not a big traffic generator for us yet, so I can't say. If Google is your main SE with plenty of traffic, I wouldn't touch a thing, however if MSN and Yahoo are your main SE's...the above worked well for us. Hope this helps. Fish Texas
