So I have 4 campaigns on MSN ADcenter, each having NOTHING to do with each other. They all get about 3,000 impressions a day each, all ranking from 2-4. So, I look at my stats, and surprisingly, I only get 171 impressions (and ONE click) yesterday. Here's a list of the crap they just fed me for possible "excuses":
-Lots of people do updates on holiday weekends, maybe you got outbid (Sure, I'm positive that 16 different, NEW companies, all decided to enter 4 different markets at EXACTLY the same time, just to screw me over)
-They were doing an update this weekend, maybe that had something to do with it (WHAT?!?!?!?)
-Traffic isn't very high on holiday weekends (Yeah, I know I generally abstain from using machinery during holy periods such as Columbus Day... YEEESH!) I'm sure that's enough to knock my impressions down to 2% of what they normally are...
-I just searched for my main keyword term, which is the name of a city, and the ads displayed were ALL for another city, at least 600 miles away. They suggested this was due to "BROAD" advertising.
Are these people functioning idiots or what? I'm sick of pouring money down a hole, only to get this kind of customer support. Why can't MSN hire someone who actually knows something about PPC advertising. Nothing worse than to be told you're wrong when you know you're right...
People at Adwords are so knowledgeable, why can't MSN get the same, instead of glorified telemarketers? Probably the same reason Google's smoking MS in every other arena too...
