On a XP pro machine
IE is behaving strangely, here is an example
if I go to CNN and from there click on any cnn links it will do fine, if (this weekend is a PGA golf event) from cnn I click the offered link to the PGA site or any outside link, then it shuts down IE7, and in IE8 it goes no where.
what's going on?

I even tried to rem IE8 and get back to IE7 but to no avail!

Did you check CNNs source code for those links? Maybe they're going through a tracking script or something like that and it breaks on IE. I recently had a very frustrating experience like that, but on Firefox, not IE.

Thanks tedster, What's bugging is that it happens only on XP on my other win7 it does not happen.
Further I used CNN as an example
but on all sites it will occur.
if I visit aaa.com and go to aaa.com/bbb.html it works
if I visit zzz.com and then go sdsd.com then it won't!
