I'm seeing the updates now for all my machines; XP, Vista 7, Server, etc. Anyone run into any issues yet?

I noticed a huge performance loss in Outlook 2007. I don't know if it has anything to do with the Office patches that were applied, but wow, did it tank. [support.microsoft.com...] [support.microsoft.com...] [support.microsoft.com...]

Fortunately my office machine is only Vista Basic and I do not run hardly any other MS programs therefore update was "only" 9.2 mb.

That's strange, now it says it's 17.0 mb!

Just downloaded and installed... faster than I expected. So far apparently no problems.

Is anybody experiencing 5 - 10 second delays when changing from the Inbox to Calendar, etc in Outlook 2007? This is ridiculous. I tried compacting the .pst, rebooting, archiving, etc. Nothing seems to help.

Outlook 2007 is dying on my computer - at least I will stop trying to delete e-mails and compacting the database as other people are having issues with it as well.

With regard to reported Outlook problems, I use Office 2003 and don't use Outlook, so I can't comment from personal experience. I do see via Google Realtime Search, though, that KB2412171 is implicated, and some people are suggesting that uninstalling it fixes the problem. I won't make that recommendation, because I haven't tried it, but here are searches (on Realtime) you can try... outlook 2007 outlook 2007 KB2412171 KB2412171 Also, this apparently affects Outlook 2007 in combination with Gmail. Some results from Germany as well as from the US. Microsoft apparently doesn't monitor Twitter, so @MSDownloads hasn't commented. ;)

Uninstalling 2412171 is the proposed fix for now. And that worked for me. Nothing solid from MS except for a link and request for OS and details from one of the MVPs: [social.answers.microsoft.com...]

FWIW I run Outlook 2007 on my main workstation (64-bit Vista), and I experienced no slowdown in operation at all.

| Same here, but I also have a SSD, which doesn't seem to let anything slow it down.

The Outlook team in Redmond is aware they have an issue but they are unable to track it down as of yet (received a response email tonight). Although bill isn't having any issue with Vista 64-bit there are others reporting issues with Vista. That's the real issue for the Outlook team right now, they cannot pin-point the problem.

Yes, even though I am not affected by this it certainly doesn't mean that it's not an issue. ;) The problem appears related to the COM add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook Connector. It may also impact those using Outlook to connect to Gmail. Outlook Answers forum [social.answers.microsoft.com] Outlook 2007 and Update 2412171 [officeforlawyers.com]

Did it a few min ago I do not have Coops problems with Cal and Outlook, and it still sync fine between my Droid, Outlook and G-cal. however instead of a split second as it was, it maybe takes a full sec, just barely noticeable but is there. <edit> Forgot mentioning: Wins7, 64bit, Outlook 07</edit>

bill emphasized my point exactly (hope the bold name didn't draw my emphasis the wrong way! It's actually a forum trait I picked up from you!). The issue is one of those that programmers absolutely love -- one that has no common root and is so difficult to troubleshoot it's humbling. I submitted the fact that Outlook Connector was in my Menu bar but I was not using it. I have no idea where that came from, I assumed either on initial installation or during an Update. I hadn't noticed it before and I never use it. No Gmail, ... nothing Google as a matter of fact ;) ... on the computer having issues. I notice that the same old 2412171 fix keeps popping in the Windows Update. Not going to do it! Not yet, waiting to see what Redmond comes up with first.
