Setup Vista Network to view/edit in winxp
Why does Microsoft make it so difficult in Vista?

I want to setup my laptop vista network so all the HDD folders can be shared and edited from my WinXP PCs (excluding the c:\ system drive maybe).
I only managed to see/edit the so called "Public" folder which is not public! but it is mine and/or my business's.
Can anyone help in setting up all folders in vista so I can see/edit them from WinXP?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld francocauter.

What's controlling your network? Do you have a server of some sort? Routers? Switches? How are you connected? Do you have a domain? A workgroup?

Do you have an Admin level account on the Vista laptop?

I am the Admin/Owner of the network. I have 4 XP PCs & 1 Vista laptop.
I am running XP on a 64 bit machine beacause of this Vista network problem. I have a "2wire" rooter cabled to a Netgear switch GS105.
