Hello, I noticed that my audio icon is missing from my task bar. I recently had a new harddrive and cd/dvd installed but can't recall if it was there and disappeared or was never there to begin with. Windows XP home came installed. If I open "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" from control panel, there is no audio device listed and all the checkboxes (such as "show icon on task bar") are all de-activated- you can't check or uncheck them. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you!

You need to open the device manager. You can then discover if there is a conflict. Most likely, you just need to reinstall the driver. Kaled.

Nope, not in the device mgr. I'll reinstall the driver. Thank you!
