| Sending mulitple times but not in Sent box

Recently i got couple of weird situations. Sending emails with large attachments via Outlook Express & with norton AV displays sending error.When in fact the email have been sent out.NOrton will show the scanning process and after a time shows the failure error.
THen the email is stuck in the outbox.But in actual fact when checked with the receiver, he receives it multiple times - UP to 7 times of the same email infact.
Tried uninstalling Norton but does not seem to do the trick.
Any of you'll experienced this before?
