Xp "gold" was a lite weight pirate install ..running mainly in french ..english version was called bones or bare bones ..

so what do we envisage will be the delay before the first working ( passes phone home and phone call to MS to activate ) "distro" will on the "downlops" ..

the betas have already been around the torrents for a while now ..

vista ..pretty face ..shame about the chassis ..wouldn't waste a dvd to pirate it ..( tried it as a legit beta tester ..even tho I had to trick where I was coming from to get a copy.. very very unimpressed ) ..

most of what it can do the average user doesnt need ..most of what it claims to be able to do the average IT user doesnt want ..

it will succeed due to being an installed OEM ..

eh alors! cest n'importe quoi!

(and we wont even get into ..for the moment the diff between the recommended specs reqd to run it and the actual specs needed to make it work better than petrified kludge in a RAMless time warp) ..

OK so I and my son run autodesk aps ( legit ones too ) ..who else needs these specs ..certainly not the average PC buyer ..

As my knowledge, some computer vendors has launch Express Upgrade to Vista program. This means if you buy the specified PC, you are eligible to upgrade free to Vista before specified time limit.
