Good Starter Book? rcshield msg:4379584 3:21 pm on Oct 26, 2011 (gmt 0) I want to learn .NET and ASP. Can anyone recommend a good starter book? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Beginning ASP.NET 4 in C# and VB by Imar Spaanjaars But if you're new to this, I'd scrap .NET and go to PHP. I am forced to use .net for work, but I don't think it will be around in 5 years... Just look at the amount of posts in the PHP forum compared to here. It's a ghost town here. From what I can see you're going to get a lot of white haired execs pushing .net, while the youth is all PHP. Baruch Menachem msg:4400620 7:25 pm on Dec 22, 2011 (gmt 0)
Here in Portland all the jobs are in .Net, so I have the same basic question. Also, I would like some advice on finding a hosting plan. As for the ghost town remark, I can see how it is justified. Posts from November are still on the front page! But book and hosting advice would still be appreciated andrewsmd msg:4406649 6:50 pm on Jan 13, 2012 (gmt 0)
I learned myself from these videos and the forum on this site. I highly recommend it [ ...] asp.net rcshield msg:4408659 6:59 pm on Jan 19, 2012 (gmt 0)
