Internal server domain clashing with an existing top level domain

Hello folks, just setup an internal server (running on Window server OS 2003) in my office and everything goes smooth - until we found out our stupid mistake, setting up the internal name domain the same as our website domain.

Now, what happened everytime is that when one surf to the webpage (without the www.), the request will be answered by our internal DNS Server instead of the external DNS servers.

We have solve most of the issues (like mail.example.com and www.example.com) using "forwarder function" but we can't work out on the "example.com" - is there any way I can troubleshoot the issue?

Appreciate for any help given, thanks in advance!

Sorry that I couldn't find any better discussion group to fit in the topic.

Set up your internal DNS server with an A record to point example.com to the right IP.
