| The U.S. sued Apple Inc., Hachette SA, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Penguin and Simon & Schuster in New York district court, claiming the publishers colluded to fix eBook prices. CBS Corp. Simon & Schuster, Lagardère SCA’s Hachette Book Group and News Corp. HarperCollins settled their suits today, two people familiar with the cases said. |

Report: Apple wants trial on e-book price-fixing [reuters.com] Apple Inc wants to go to trial to defend itself against U.S. government allegations that it conspired with publishers to raise prices of electronic books, a lawyer for the Silicon Valley giant said in court on Wednesday.
