| Keep Macbook "Awake" with Clamshell Down

I have a Squeezebox Boom radio and would like to keep the Logitech Media Server running, even with the clamshell on a Macbook Pro is closed.
Found programs like Jiggler and Caffeine but what's the downside of running these apps?

I have not used either app, but the downsize I think of would be diminished battery life.
