Anyone else getting spammed by negative results in google maps?

In the past couple of weeks we have been hit hard by spammers posting multiple one star reviews. They simply copy and paste the same negative review to EVERY competitor in the same city - across multiple cities. We have contacted Google about this, and they do remove the spam reviews after a few days - but this is still much slower than the rate they are coming up. And what's crazy is they don't ban the user (even though clicking on their name shows they posted the same one star review on over a 100 profiles) so the same accounts keep adding more negative reviews as soon as the first ones are deleted.

Is anyone else seeing this? What can we do? We've been unable to figure out who is behind it, and since Google will only offer very limited help I really don't know what can be done about this :(

I think it likely that Google will get around to assessing the rating activity and diffusing it.
