There's alot going on w/ Google Maps these last few days and many have experienced the same rejection message.
What really bothers me is there is absolutely no reason given other than it does not meet guidelines.
I hope there is some sort of announcement from Google in the next day or 2.

Weird things happen. My entry was happily in #1 spot for at least two years and one day it was gone. When I logged in, it said I had failed to verify, when in fact I had done two postcard verifications since the start. I reverified and am #2 now.

dbrennan OK so the rejection messages are a recent thing? Do you know if anyone has seen any effects from it? So far the sites I've looked at seem otherwise unaffected but I'm guessing that might change

Yea Stu, it began for others within the last 3-4 weeks and if you check out the forum over at Google Places, you'll see the very latest rumblings.
Some have lost total access to their places accounts and some are ad agencies with all of their accounts listed under 1 account, ouch...
Google is putting new resources into this eventual gold mine and there are numerous listings that need to be cleaned up / eradicated... (Spammers)
